Project A.3: Quantum transport in random networks

Our primary goal is to calculate disorder ensemble averages of quantities relevant to transport experiments, such as electron current full counting statistics, noise spectra, or temporal correlation functions such as waiting time distributions. As these averages involve (in the case of random quantum master equations) random Liouvillians given by non-Hermitian matrices, traditional impurity averaging techniques (e.g. from disordered solid state systems) have to be re-adapted to the network case. We will therefore seek to develop an analytical approach that is perturbative in the disorder strength in order to calculate quantities like ensemble averages of current cumulants for relatively simple situations. These comprise master equations for transport in, e.g. coupled quantum dots in random topology including counting fields.
