In diesem Semester steht die Kontrolle und Anwendung von komplexer Laserdynamik im Mittelpunkt. Durch ihre stark nichtlinearen Eigenschaften spielen Laser einerseits eine entscheidende Rolle als Modell-Systeme für das Gebiet der nichtlinearen Dynamik. Andererseits sind sie als vielseitig einsetzbare kontrollierbare Bauelemente in der optischen Datenübertragung zu finden. Betrachtet man den Laser nicht als einzelnes System, sondern z.B. mit optischer Rückkopplung oder optischer Injektion, ergeben sich vielfältige komplexe Phänomene, die bereits ihren Weg in industrielle Anwendungen gefunden haben, z.B. Erzeugung kurzer Pulse durch Modenkopplung oder Stabilisierung von Laserlicht durch optische Injektion.
Der Besuch der Veranstaltung (mit Vortrag und Ausarbeitung) entspricht 5 ECTS Punkten.
