Research interests

We study two-dimensional self-propelled spherical particles which feel not only propulsion force but also propulsion torque using Brownian dynamics simulations, where the particle motion is governed by coupled Langevin equations. Therefore our interests lie in:

  • Effects of propulsion torque and polar interaction on the stability of cluster formation and cluster sizes

  • Characterizations of the motion of clockwise vortices inside clusters, which is induced by self-propelled particles which tend to move counterclockwise

  • Development of the theoretical description of the macroscopic structure and collective behaviors of circle swimmers
