In the center of the activities of the group are theoretical
investigations and computer simulations of nonlinear dynamic systems
and complex networks. We study self-organized spatio-temporal pattern
formation and its control by time-delayed feedback methods, and
stochastic influences and noise. Our current research focusses on the
deliberate control and selection of complex, chaotic, or noise-induced
space-time patterns as well as dynamics of complex delay-coupled
networks. As state-of-the-art applications we investigate power grids,
optoelectronic and neural systems, in particular neuronal network
dynamics, semiconductor lasers, and nonlinear dynamics in
semiconductor nanostructures.
Eckehard Schöll is, besides his
affiliation with TU Berlin, a member and Principal Investigator of the
Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience Berlin (since 2010)
and a guest scientist at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact
Research (since 10/2020). He is President of the International Physics
and Control Society (IPACS). He is Speciality Chief Editor of the
new open access Journals Frontiers in Network

which was launched on April 1, 2021
