Non-Markovian dynamics in chiral quantum networks with spins and photons
A quantum network consists of small-scale quantum computers connected via waveguides. In this talk, I will first introduce a model describing the physics of a chiral quantum network, where a node has the possibility to emit into the waveguide with a preferential direction, and present implementations based on optical nanostructures and cold-atom setups. I will then illustrate with several examples how the inclusion of the waveguide in our model allows to describe Non-Markovian dynamics, beyond the standard quantum optics treatment. As an outlook, I will present our recent proposal to realize an ‘on-chip’ quantum network where the nodes are connected by a 2D Quantum-Hall material.
